A few days ago, the awaited second release of the ‘Sisters & Brothers’ series hit the stores. The EP sees the turn of Russian Girls – the brainchild of Guðlaugur Halldór Einarsson, a member of the alternative Icelandic band Fufanu who just released their second album ‘Sports’ and of the duo Captain Fufanu before that.
To get a taste of that wonky sound of Russian Girls, give ‘Autopilot’ a listen. It is an adventurous pop song featuring a detuned groove and spiky guitars.

The audivisual pendant of ‚Autopilot’ is the lo-fi musicvideo, which is showing the singer Tatjana Dís and Sóley Tómasdóttir on a garbage can amongst other random places and looking aloof, effortless and incredibly cool at once.

For an one-hour-dosis of 80s driven synth pop and electronica, listen to Russian Girls ‘Champions League’ DJ Mix on Soundcloud and discover other promising Icelandic artists.
