“The idea for the song “My Eyes Won’t Be Open” came from Eastern European lore. I heard once that if you “died with your eyes open, you died with regrets”. The imagery, and the question of “how do I die with my eyes closed?” impacted me greatly. I called my friend Tyler Bryant and we drew out an answer from the ether, from ourselves, and from each other with this song.”
